I started Amie & Jo because I believe some things should never go out of style.

I would describe my style as classic casual chic. I love t-shirts, jeans, and sweaters. For years, I would refresh my wardrobe each season with staple pieces, such as solid-colored t-shirts in navy, black, grey, and white, a cream sweater, a navy & white striped shirt, and white tennis shoes. And every couple of years I would do a major clean-out of my closet. I did this for decades, and never had a problem finding clothes to replace what I gave away. Until the year I needed a pair of nice jeans, i.e., not distressed. Every store I went to only had distressed jeans, because that was the biggest trend that year.

Since then, I have had an increasingly difficult time finding quality timeless pieces that fit my budget and my lifestyle. Based on conversations I have had with other women, I realized that I wasn’t alone. It seems that retailers, large and small, only carry the latest trend. Some of these trends, honestly, I just don’t understand, and others are very cute. There is a demographic of women who feel ignored by the fashion industry—adult women who don't want to wear the latest trend. We know what we like, and we know what looks good on us. We still want to be stylish and look put together. We want to be comfortable without looking sloppy. We want our classic casual chic back!
